American Heart Association Start! Heart Walk 2008
On September 26, 2008, several members of the ERC research team joined the American Heart Association (AHA) start! Heart Walk. This event promotes a healthy lifestyle while raising awareness regarding heart disease and stroke. Our Center supports the goals of the AHA to improve education and advocacy for heart disease, as evidenced by the work of our own community outreach programs and educational courses. The ERC and AHA have a common vision of improving outcomes from cardiovascular disease through basic science, translational, and clinical research. By walking with hundreds of other University of Chicago employees, we hoped to bring attention to this important cause and show our dedication to the stated goals and mission of the ERC.
