About the People
Jing Li, M.D.
Dr. Li received her M.D. degree from China in 1991 and finished her first year residency before she started her research career at the University of Chicago after that time. She is widely published and has received numerous awards for her work in this area most notably the Research Recognition Award from the American Physiological Society for her distinguished research demonstrating the key function of NOD2/CARD15 in Crohn’s disease.
Dr. Li recently joined the ERC in 2008. Dr. Li is interested in signal transduction and innate immunity. Her research is focused on the role of MAPK and NF-kB in tissue injury and inflammation. Dr. Li currently studies the molecular mechanisms underlying tissue injury during hemorrhagic shock and seeks to define the protective role of hypothermia against tissue injury. Her ultimate goal is to develop novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for treating hemorrhagic shock. Dr.Li has published over 30 peerreviewed publications and reviews. She has extensive experience in training fellows and students.
